Dais - SAFE

I am Dais

Dais is a Peking duck in very good shape that arrived at SAFE at the very beginning of May 2021.

He loves jabbering with his companions and wandering all over the sanctuary as if he were on his way to an important meeting. He leads his small group of 2 Muscovite ducks, which he jealously guards and protects with fervor.

Dais doesn’t go into the barn without making sure his 2 companions have gone in too. A few times, he even gave me the message that something was wrong by staring at me without moving until I realized that the door was closed and that one of his companions hadn’t returned.

Like his companions who arrived at the same time, he was one of a series of ducklings we kept and others we placed. There was a craze in Montreal to adopt ducklings thanks to a post on TikTok urging their adoption. Young people sold them on street corners or in schoolyards. Responsible parents tried to place them, but many were abandoned in parks or on the streets.

I’m Tom the turkey and I like to surround myself with my duck and goose friends!

Beauty

Beauty’s previous Mom looked for a new loving home for her for 6 months and out of desperation was going to send her to an exploitation farm. We intercepted her just in time.

I am lucky to be with my mom, Bailey, and receive hugs very often

I’m the greediest of them all, maybe even the whole Sanctuary! For me, everything tastes good and I don’t hesitate to do pirouettes to get what I want!

I was a sweet and affectionate goat with humans.

I love to blow and nicker when I see my human caretakers and approache with interest to see what goodies may be offered!

Léon

I’m the new kid in pig space and I’m also the most nimble! I love taking mud baths.

I’m Flocon, an enchanting pigeon with quite a character!

Buzz

I’m a sweet and adorable goat, I admit, I’m a little scared of humans. No, but they are so big and imposing! I stay in my quiet corner when they come to clean the big one :)

Adam

Adam is our sweet boy growing up, brimming with curiosity about the world around him.

Matilda

If something happens, she is the first to investigate. After the storm passes, Matilda returns to her curious nature, growling happily when scratched behind her ears.

I’m the queen of the pig kingdom and I love it!
