Dais - SAFE

I am Dais

Dais is a Peking duck in very good shape that arrived at SAFE at the very beginning of May 2021.

He loves jabbering with his companions and wandering all over the sanctuary as if he were on his way to an important meeting. He leads his small group of 2 Muscovite ducks, which he jealously guards and protects with fervor.

Dais doesn’t go into the barn without making sure his 2 companions have gone in too. A few times, he even gave me the message that something was wrong by staring at me without moving until I realized that the door was closed and that one of his companions hadn’t returned.

Like his companions who arrived at the same time, he was one of a series of ducklings we kept and others we placed. There was a craze in Montreal to adopt ducklings thanks to a post on TikTok urging their adoption. Young people sold them on street corners or in schoolyards. Responsible parents tried to place them, but many were abandoned in parks or on the streets.

Buzz

I’m a sweet and adorable goat, I admit, I’m a little scared of humans. No, but they are so big and imposing! I stay in my quiet corner when they come to clean the big one :)

Samson

Samson was brought to us by a caring soul. He had an injured leg when he arrived and was limping badly. Now that he is healed he has elected to live on the pond at SAFE.

Bronco

I enjoy being petted and brushed by humans. And I am very smart as I will do everything to go out!

Leo

I’m so sweet and kind that humans always come and stroke my cheeks !

Tom

I’m Tom the turkey and I like to surround myself with my duck and goose friends!

Jeannot

Jeannot the sheep lived on a farm where he spent his life alone, inside a cubicle.

Miss Piggie

I’m the queen of the pig kingdom and I love it!

Flocon

I’m Flocon, an enchanting pigeon with quite a character!

Russell

I’m the greediest of them all, maybe even the whole Sanctuary! For me, everything tastes good and I don’t hesitate to do pirouettes to get what I want!

Dudley

I’m Dudley, Peking duck, full of energy and chatter!

Ferdinand

I’m Ferdinand, the duck with the big heart!

Nemoo

Nemoo is a male calf of the Jersey breed and therefore has no use in the dairy industry or in the meat industry. His destiny was different.
