Come and volunteer at SAFE

Volunteers play an essential role in SAFE’s success, providing our 70+ resident animals with the daily care they need.

Whether you are cleaning the various living areas and barns or preparing meals for our various residents, your help allows us to continue to work on our mission to rescue farm animals.

To give them care and sanctuary, to connect animals to people to advance veganism, and to advocate for animal rights in alliance with other movements and initiatives.

After a winter that never ends the sanctuary needs your help to do a deep cleaning of the enclosures and others. Book the day that suits you best.

Volunteering FAQ

We currently accept volunteers who will help us with the daily tasks of the sanctuary, which includes projects to clean and enrich the sanctuary outside, alongside resident animals. We are also trying to enlarge our network of volunteers for organizational and communication needs, especially on social networks.

Wearing a mask at your convenience, whether for outside or interiors. You will have to bring your own mask.

Volunteering is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day of the week, Saturdays and Sundays included.

Please bring water, sunscreen, warm clothes for winter, work gloves and boots! Out of respect for resident animals and the mission of our organization, the meals brought on site must be vegans.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

Pets are not authorized on property due to the safety of our resident animals. If it is an assistance animal, be sure to alert us before your volunteer quarter. You can send us an email at info@safe-refuge.org to confirm.
