I am Ferdinand

Ferdinand is a domestic brown duck whose breed we do not know.

What we do know is that he’s a man of character and fearless.

Having arrived at SAFE in 2020 with his companion D’Artagnan, Ferdinand disliked humans and did everything he could to avoid their presence, even throwing himself against walls.

Now convinced that not all humans are dangerous, he doesn’t even react if one passes him by while he’s dozing, head under his wing.

Ferdinand has calmed down a little, but in the early days he used to chase geese and roosters, plucking their feathers if he caught them.

Ferdinand now lives his life as a busy duck, wandering from one edge of the sanctuary to the other, always in a hurry as if he were going to be late for an appointment. His faithful companions are D’artagan and Clover.

If something happens, she is the first to investigate. After the storm passes, Matilda returns to her curious nature, growling happily when scratched behind her ears.

Samson

Samson was brought to us by a caring soul. He had an injured leg when he arrived and was limping badly. Now that he is healed he has elected to live on the pond at SAFE.
