I am Flocon

Flocon is a white pigeon brought to us in July 2023 by someone who picked it up in her driveway. He seemed dazed or injured because he wasn’t moving.

At first we thought Flocon was a dove, and we tried to place her in good hands, as we couldn’t keep an animal in a cage. But on asking a specialist, it turns out that Flocon is a pigeon, and if he escaped from his cage and then the barn, he’d find his way home.

So we opened the cage. Flocon settled on the cage. Over time, it took over the barn space where the hens and Romeo the rooster used to roost.

Flocon never pretended to want to leave the barn, even with the door wide open all day long. He has adopted his new territory where he reigns as king, defending his space without fear, attacking chickens and ducks without respite. We recently caught him on the back of a Muskovite duck 3 times his size. He courted her and stuck to her, cooing. An enchanting bird with character!

I’m a sweet and affectionate duck, and I love swimming in my little pool near the house. The volunteers take me there every day!

I am Thor, the master rooster! I walk with class with my feathers going down to my paws.

I am the most beautiful looking poney of all, don’t tell them ;) But I am a bit shy with humans while being kind and sweet.
