Adam was born on August 26, 2020. His very lucky star must have watched over him. As a calf on a dairy farm, his hours were numbered. He should have been killed within hours of his birth, just like thousands of Jersey calves every day. But he was so puny that his farmer took pity on him and decided to give him away. Sitting in the backseat of the transport vehicle en route to SAFE and receiving lots of love, Adam didn’t know it but he had embarked on the journey to his new life; towards freedom.

Adam is our sweet boy growing up, brimming with curiosity about the world around him. He loves chasing after Russell, a little goat his size (for now) and curling up with the rest of the goats for a nap. He has a lot of fun with Bree our adoptive Pitbull mom who takes care of all the new arrivals. But what he loves the most is spending time with “the big ones”, those huge creatures who fascinate him and who have accepted him among them. He has a soft spot for Nemoo, another Jersey man who must remind him of a loved one he must have known if only for a few very precious and too short moments, his mother.

Adam loves cuddles and chin scratches and those very special moments, when his belly is full after his 3 liter bottle of milk, when he rubs up against his human looking for love and affection like his mother would have given. Adam is a unique and special boy. To the agricultural industry, however, Adam is just waste.
